When Nell and Saffron met and bonded over their respective loves of poetry and astrophysics, they both felt something beginning. But Saffron's struggling with seasonal affective disorder (SAD), something she's determined to keep hidden as past relationships have taught her she's too hard to love, at least until spring comes again.
So when Nell comes up with a list of seasonal activities for her and Saffron to do together, things get complicated. As they visit orchards and carve pumpkins, Saffron starts to wonder what it would be like to let herself be seen by Nell - who is so busy trying to find the 'right' words to describe herself, she hasn't noticed that leaves aren't the only things falling this autumn...
