The Crown in the Quarry

This adventure is set in Blaenau Ffestiniog during the Second World War. In Liverpool the falling bombs are destroying homes and families, and children are having to flee to places of safety.
Among the evacuees is Sardar, a boy who has migrated with his family from the Punjab to Liverpool before the war. He soon discovers that this slate-mining area is not unaffected by the war. Nor is it free from prejudice against him because of the colour of his skin.

But it's not only children that are being transported to Ffestiniog for their safety. When some of London's treasures are moved for safekeeping to one of the mines, the gates of history are reopened...
